I've been experimenting with different combinations for breakfast too, the past few months.
A nice one to start the day is a salad of half a cucumber, cut in pieces, three tomatoes (also in pieces), and a can of tuna (on brine, the tuna with oil has more calories). I also add some mixed nuts, and eat an apple when I'm in the train on the way to work. This breakfast keeps me going until lunch time ...
In the weekends I tend to take a little more time for my breakfasts. The past two weekends I made myself an omelet with some bacon (50 grams), mushrooms (approx. 130 grams), cut in small slices) and two eggs (stirred), I sprinkle the omelet with rasped cheese ... No it's not paleo-approved, but it's great none the less! After some experimentation (and complicated by my absent sense of smell) I found the right way to make the omelet without letting it burn. Delicious! And I take an apple for the vitamins.
For lunches at work I still tend to take carrots (500 grams, it's cheaper than the packages with 300 grams. It's a strange world we live in...), and some meat.

The Nose Knows
The first dish is tenderloin with apple, red onion and broccoli. The second is a horse steak with broccoli, red onion and a sweet pepper.
The last one was intended to be with chicken, but there was a hint of an odd smell to it so I decided not to use it. The reason that we have a nose hanging right over our mouth is to be able to sniff anything we eat, in case it may have gone bad or seem unpalatable. So I trust my olfactory sense implicitely when it comes to these things. Nose knows best. It tasted good as it is, though for linner today, I'll have the same with the intended chicken.

Fun with cauliflower...
I tried out another nice combination last night for dinner.
I stir fried 270 grams of minced meat (extra mager rundergehakt for dutchies), with a small cauliflower (bloemkool), one bellpepper (paprika). Then I added four tomatoes in parts. I stir fried as long as it took for the tomatoes to fall apart and form a delicious sauce together with some sweet chilisauce and some soy sauce. It was very good!
I had half of this last night, and will have the other half tonight.
Together with a breakfast consisting of some cucumber, 125 grams of carrots, 125 grams of strawberries, some cherrytomatoes and some nuts, a lunch of carrots and 100 grams of ham and a banana and some apricots in between I had less than 900 kcal yesterday. While eating to my fill!

Brunner
It was half an iceberg lettuce, about 250 g of veal liver and about 150 g of chicken breast stir fried in olive oil with some Ketjap Asin and a bit of salt, two tomatoes, half a melon, green as well as black olives with selectively applied dressings of extra vierge olive oil, balsamico vinegar and lemon juice.
As a snack in the afternoon I had a few carrots and a handfull of white grapes.
I won't at all regret having the rest tonight. Desert will be a handfull of white grapes and a handfull of cherries.
For those who like to count their calories:
100 g veal liver: 185 kcal
100 g chicken breast: 158 kcal
The rest of the ingredients were listed in silly and unuseful quantities on the website I got this info from - things like a slice for melon and a bowl for cherries or grams for iceberg lettuce. But I estimate the total of the day (including the snacks) to be below 1400 kcal. I don't care because I don't count, but basically it means caloriewise I ate about three quarters of what a male adult should. Of course that is uninteresting compared to the fact that my food today was very nutrient dense and tasty. That's what counts.

Fast Flashback
It's a filet of smoked rainbow trout on a bed of stir fried courgette, eggplant and spring onions. I probably used ground musterd seed, chili pepper, salt and garlic as spices (I really don't remember).
The salad is cucumber, paprika (aka bell pepper), more spring onions, the stem of a broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, olives and witlof. Yes, that's the english name for the white stuff you can see at the top, though you may now it as belgian endive, chicory or chicoree, depending on where you live. Now I'm going to stop talking about food before I decide to skip my fast...
